I’m baaack!

My blog is back from the dead, albeit a month after Easter.

I can come up with a variety of alibis for my failure to update this during the last five months. For one, I’ve been preoccupied with school. Being a freshman law student was challenging on all aspects; right now, I’m just thankful that I have survived it. Sometimes, I’m just too tired or terribly busy. Or probably the most appropriate reason for my blog’s inactivity is the utter lack of something to write about.

I started this blog a year ago with nothing particular in mind except to have an outlet to express myself. And it is precisely because of that why the pieces I’ve been churning seem to have no focus at all. It has become a personal diary cum pseudo-fashion journal. A halo-halo of sorts – delectable or not depending upon your taste.

Sometimes, I ask myself the reason why I blog. Frankly speaking, it is one way for me to have an “online presence.” Apart from all my social networking accounts, I think that having this would make me relevant, or at the very least visible to the eyes of many. What do I mean exactly by that? I prefer to expound on it in a future blog entry. Hopefully writing it doesn’t take me a lifetime.

For now, I’d like to continue updating this thing a notch higher than what I’ve been doing in the past. I won’t promise mind-blowing entries, nor would I dare to write very trivial ones. The only thing I’m sure of is that I’ll try to make every piece worth of my reader’s time. Not necessarily to make a difference, but even with just a small goal of sparking a glint of thought among them. I’m lucky to have come across a blogging seminar that I guess would answer all my woes. It’s set later this month and I’m absolutely looking forward to that.

I really am not sure how the direction of this journal would be like in the next couple of weeks, but more or less, I already have a hint on the subjects for my future posts, as well as ways on how to tackle them. Let’s just see how things go.

But right now, let me assure and assert that I’m baaack – for good. :)

P.S. Part of that change necessarily includes my layout. Hoping this new one suits me better than the vanity-inspired format. Haha! Will continue revamping and tweaking things in the days to come! ;)

Merry Christmas!

It's the most wonderful time of the year once more! Christmas! :)

Celebrated this day the usual way. Heard the Christmas Eve mass then Noche Buena after! First time in years that our dad was able to join us again for the occasion. The following day, we went to our grandparents, both father's and mother's side.

Good food. Cool gifts. Awesome company. Great Christmas. :)

A grace-filled Christmas season, everyone! :)

Roadtrip!

To usher in the Christmas break, some of my law blockmates and I decided to have  a roadtrip! Destination: Tagaytay. Woohoo!

Well not really. Haha! At first we really intended to study somewhere in the area, since it is our midterms already when class resumes. But then again, it’s Christmas and we’re supposed to enjoy and have a good time – so studying had to be rescheduled at a later time. :))

In other news, Mirza is back from France!!! (well at least for the holidays) Good job surprising everyone! Drank the night away, like good, old times.

We threw her a surprise despedida; she had a surprise comeback!

Here’s what I wore that day. Plaid button down (Arrow), jeans (Levi’s), blazer (Dean and Trent), boots (Lumberjack). Hype this look on Loobook here! :D

P.S. Look at the outcome of this day’s shenanigans:

The sole of my boot fell off!!! :((  Lucky me, this happened when I’m about to head home already. If it fell off earlier that, I don’t think I can stand the hassle and the humiliation. Hahaha!

Anyway, I wish everyone a  merry and blessed Christmas!!! May all of us get the happiness we deserve this season. :)

Golden Girl

They say that there are two important birthdays in a woman’s life: her 18th and her 50th. Since my mom,  Maricar, wasn’t able to throw a party for her 18th, she made sure that the day she turns 50 would be something really memorable. She dubs it as her debut! Haha!

After some weeks of preparation, the day finally came. We celebrated it on her actual birth date, November 29 at the Midas Hotel. It was an intimate gathering of immediate family members, relatives and some friends.  My sister and I hosted the program. It was actually my sister’s first time to do such thing and fortunately, things flowed smoothly. I swear, we have a back-up career plan already! Preparation for my dreams of becoming an event planner. :))

The ambiance of the place is nice and the food is really good. I only realized now that it was just apt to have my mom’s birthday there. Midas = Gold = 50. Lol.

Lucky and thankful to have her as my mom. Happy 50th Birthday again, dear mother! :D

Soderno

Squeezing this quick post before I start reading again. It’s been hard to find the time to update my blog and Lookbook account ever since this semester started. We were bombarded by piles of readings – as in literally!  Spent quite a fortune already for photocopying cases just for one class. Sigh. All-nighters are becoming a habit too. It’s one of those times that I can really say with conviction that twenty-four hours a day isn’t really enough.

Nevertheless, I still made time to go to Soderno’s opening! (nice segue ba? Haha!) Finally, a food slash lifestyle market in the south! It’s located at the Molito complex, bounded by Madrigal Avenue, Commerce Avenue and Alabang-Zapote Road. Soderno is a brainchild of the same group of people behind the highly-successful Mercato Centrale at the Bonifacio Global City and the soon-to-be-opened Distrito in Makati.

The place was packed when we got there. After all, it’s their opening night. The food stalls are quite familiar since most of them are almost the same ones located in Mercato, but the whole area of Soderno is smaller. There are a few new and nice additions though. Finding tables and chairs for dining is not an easy task. Parking is a bit of a problem too. Hopefully they can improve on these aspects in the weeks to come. Still, Soderno is a welcome addition to the quaint atmosphere of Alabang.

Credits to my friend Chesca for the photos below. She used her new SLR. Woot!

Went with some of my high school friends. :)

Perhaps my most dignified photo of the night! Still looked stressed though!

The Soderno at Molito is open every weekends: the Lifestyle Market is every Saturday, from 7AM – 4PM; the Organic Market is every Sunday, 7AM – 4PM; and the Night Market runs every Friday and Saturday from 6PM – 3AM.

Happy weekend food-triping, fellow south people! :)
